Abir obtained her master's degree in Structure-Interaction of Macromolecules-Functionnal genomics (SIMGF) from Saint Joseph University (Beirut - Lebanon) in 2013. The same year, she joined the lab of Jean-François Collet, first as a post-graduate researcher. In 2014, she obtained a FNRS PhD fellowship to dissect the folding pathway of RcsF, a stress-sensing lipoprotein of the Escherichia coli outer membrane. She obtained her PhD in October 2018. She is now postdoc in both Collet & Dufrene's Labs using Atomic Force Microscopy to solve envelope mystery.
