I am coming from Sicily in the South of Italy, but studied in the North in Turin, where I obtained a Master degree in Plant Biotechnology. For my Master thesis, I went to Ireland with an Erasmus+ program scholarship to study for seven months the bioactivity of the polysaccharides from Ascophyllum nodosum. Now I am in Belgium on a collaborative EOS-project between the groups of Claire Remacle (ULg) and the group of Joris Messens (VUB), where I am studying organellar redox signalling using Chlamydomonas reinhardtii as a model.
