Brussels Center for Redox Biology

David graduated from Exeter University with a BSc in Biological and Medicinal Chemistry in 2011. Entered post-graduate study in the University of Liverpool in the group of Prof. S. Samar Hasnain, and focussed on the structural and biochemical characterisation of Quinol-dependent Nitric Oxide Reductase - with emphasis on study by X-ray crystallography. Two years of post-graduate study were spent in the group of Prof. Yoshitsugu Shiro at the SPring-8 synchrotron as part of a RIKEN-IPA (International Program Associate) exchange program, and received a PhD in Life Sciences from the University of Liverpool in 2015. Joined the group of Prof. Joris Messens in 2016 and is currently engaged in applying structural biology to the study of sulfur-based redox responses to oxidative stress in Arabidopsis.
