Géraldine obtained her Masters degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2005 from the University of Namur after performing her Master's thesis in the lab of Prof. M. Vidal in Harvard. She then obtained a PhD fellowship from the FNRS and graduated as PhD in Sciences in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. X. De Bolle in Namur.

In 2010 she joined the group of Prof. C. Jacobs-Wagner at Yale as a post-doctoral associate and obtained a fellowship from the Belgian American Educational Foundation in 2011. She moved back to Belgium in 2013 and joined the lab of Prof. J.-F. Collet where she currently holds an FNRS post-doc fellowship (Chargée de recherches). Her research focuses on the cell biology and molecular interactions in the bacterial envelope.
