Julia graduated in Biotechnology from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) in 2018. In September 2018, she came to Brussels to study the Interuniversity Programme in Molecular Biology between Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and University of Antwerp. In September 2019, she joined the Messens lab, where she completed her Master thesis about the effect of peroxiredoxin 1 phosphorylation on its redox-relay function. In August 2020, she started her PhD in the same lab, studying the architecture of human peroxiredoxin redox-relay complexes.
