Nahla joined the lab of Jean-François Collet in 2011 for 9 months as an internship research student, under the supervision of Seung Hyun Cho. In 2013, she obtained a master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Biochemistry) from Cairo University and a master's degree in Biotechnology from the American University in Cairo (Egypt). The same year, she obtained a joint PhD fellowship from UCL and the American University in Cairo. She spent half time in the lab of Rania Siam (Biology departement at the American University in Cairo) and half time in Jean-François Collet's lab where she is interested in unraveling novel interactions within the E. coli Rcs phosphorelay.
