Nandita obtained her Master's degree in Biotechnology from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India in 2013. Her thesis was focused on biochemical characterization of UDP-N-acetylglucosamine enolpyruvyl transferase (MurA) in order to find antibacterial drug target. In 2014 she joined the lab of Joris Messens and Frank Van Breusegem as a PhD student and in the same year she got the ICAR-Fellowship to pursue her research. She is currently working on characterization of sulfenylated proteins of Arabidopsis thaliana to develop oxidative stress resistant plants.
