background

Seung-Hyun obtained his Ph.D. in Seoul National University in South Korea in 2002. In 2004, he joined the lab of Jon Beckwith (member of National Academy of Sciences in USA) at Harvard Medical School as a postdoctoral fellow. In October 2010 he joined the Collet's lab as a senior scientist. One of the projects Seung-Hyun is working on now is how bacteria recognize physical damages in their envelope and transmit the signal to turn on a primary care system. This study can not only address an unresolved problem in bacterial signaling but may also help to develop novel antibiotics against the bacterial primary care system.
