Santiago, graduated in Biochemistry from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2012. Subsequently he started his doctoral studies at the Institute of Chemistry and Biological Physical Chemistry (IQUIFIB) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Francisco Luis Gonzaléz Flecha.  He studied the kinetics, thermodynamic and thermal stability of the nucleotide binding domain of a copper trasnporter ATPase from a hyperthermophilic archae. Santiago obtained his PhD in 2018, and in the same year he joined the Messens' lab to develop methods for the kinetic and biophysical characterization of a redox-regulated protein.
